I detected this problem time ago, perhaps due some minor problem with
the "php -C" implementation. May be when Stig recover his arm could
take a look on this :) To force the error:
# cd pear/XML_fo2pdf
# pear package package.xml
XML_fo2pdf-0.9/
XML_fo2pdf-0.9/fo2pdf.php
XML_fo2pdf-0.9/package.xml
package ok
# pear install XML_fo2pdf-0.9.tgz
installed /usr/lib/php/XML/fo2pdf.php
install ok
shell-init: could not get current directory
