If your package requires a certain PHP version, you can indicate,
that PHP > 4.x.x is required by using the following tags in your
package.xml:
<deps>
<dep type="php" rel="ge" version="4.x.x" />
</deps>
If you want to create wrapper functions, that's nice, but there
is no real need for it.
