Sure, but eventually the PHP socket lib will be relased and stable, and
there are a few things in the current incarnation of Net_Socket that are
missing. udp support, a canRead (ie. select()), etc.
It obviously wouldn't be release worthy until the PHP socket library is
complete and stable.
But either way, I guess backwards compatibility is a must.
