in case someone is interested:
i have written a short script which creates softlinks
against a PEAR-CVS directory using the package.xml file
of each package.
this way you can set up a structure of all packages
which looks as if the packages were installed,
only that everything is just a softlink.
so you can work in your from-CVS-cecked-out-directory
without bothering of copying or anything ...
as long as the package.xml file is ok and the program
interprets it properly it should work :-)
it might not be the perfect solution but it works fine
for me
if anyone is interested:
1. download the script
2. configure the 2 vars inside, src- and dest-dir
3. be sure Tree and XML_Parser are installed
4. and run it from the command line
http://www.kriesing.de/showsource.php?domain=wolfram.kriesing.de&file=/programming/scripts/setupLns.php
http://wolfram.kriesing.de/programming/scripts/setupLns.php.gz
it depends on the packages XML_Parser and Tree
i checked it against all the PEAR classes in the pear-directory,
it works with all of them. even though the structure differs in
some package-files a little. some package-files like the one in
Net_NNTP are not all correct, but i guess the script does a
good enough job.
bugs are welcome.
should this script go anywhere in PEAR-CVS? like in "scripts"?
