there is a wonderfully undocumented feature of cvs: CVSPASS enviroment variable allows you to use a temp password file..
I use something like this to do auto code updates..
var $cvspass = ":pserver:anonymous@php.com:/usr/cvs A??????"; <- put the password encrypted here..
$fh = fopen("/tmp/cvspass","w");
fwrite($fh,$this->cvspass);
fclose($fh);
$cmd = "cd ".dirname(__FILE__) ."/../;CVSPASS=/tmp/cvspass /usr/bin/cvs update -d -P";
$cmd;
unlink '/tmp/cvspass';
