ok, zlib was not built into the portable so I cant make packages - for some reason the pear package just died with no Fatal error here when I tried using phpCLI + pearCLI pear package ./package.xml - anyway the stuff below was an attempt to fix the issue that testing here ended up with all the files in the PEAR/Frontend Directory instead of Laid out as per CVS... - will look closer tommorow - it may just be this rather chaotic install on the portable.. regards alan Tomas V.V.Cox wrote:

If this is really required by the packager, I'm strongly +1 for changing this: I don't see a good point why a directory should have a role, since it may be possible that one directory may contain files of different types.
The <dir role="XXX"> is just for lazy developers. A way of saying: "all the files inside this dir are of role XXXX if no other is specified". Tomas V.V.Cox
