Did you get those results in the same script or in two different script.
Oracle always takes a bit longer to connect the first time, after the first
connect it becomes faster, also plogon reuses the connection so even in a
second script it would still use the first connection hence the ridiculously
low connect time for PHPLIB (assuming php lib uses plogon also). Try
reversing your benchmark, run PHPLIB first and PEAR second.
My best bet for a realistic benchmark for oracle would be to write two
scripts run one, restart apache and run the second.
