Hi,
well MDB is now about to go in production at my company .. for mysql
atleast.
Most of the methods are now documented (in common.php) and over the
weekend I hope to have most of the rest of core stuff documented.
Since the pear installer currently neither installs test script nor
documentation you can either grab those files from the pear cvs or from
the following URL: www.dybnet.de/MDB
We even have a PostGreSql driver underway.
I have done some benchmarks again yesterday using John Lims benchmark
suite.
You can find the results here:
http://www.dybnet.de/MDB/benchmark_mdb.jpg
And the test suite can be found here:
http://www.dybnet.de/MDB/benchmark.zip
So please check out the latest version and provide feedback if you like
the API or if you want/need anything changed. After this I would like to
start the first Release Candidates for 1.0.
Currtenly there are tons of what I call "high level" methods that
basically just call several lower level methods but that dont really
add any functionality. They dont seem to hurt performance much though
(looking at the results I got from switching out common.php with
common.php.strip as its included in the benchmark.zip in the MDB
directory). But I still dont want to have a bunch of methods in there
that cause more confusion than good.
If there is anything you want in a 1.0 release speak now!
Best regards,
Lukas Smith
