Some topics
1) PEAR coding standards and how to make a package (including package.xml,
etc.), as well as the procedure to contribute it to PEAR
2) Discussion of some base PEAR packages, e.g. PEAR_Error (and its associated
error checking/handling), PEAR::DB, etc.; also, useful packages
like PEAR::Cache, PEAR::XML_RPC and PEAR::SOAP, etc.
3) What is PEAR (and PECL), with some sample packages and a brief discussion on
them (basically a teaser to make people aware of PEAR)
4) Show how to make a simple C extension for PECL
5) Use of the pear installer to make life easier when installing packages, you
can also talk about the GUI versions (GTK, Web)
6) Ask for more science/math in PEAR ;-)
