Hey Guys,
The SQL parser and DBA are becoming more capable, and I need a good way
of testing new features and for regressions (especially compatibility
with old PHP versions; there have been more than a few surprises for me!).
What's the recommended way of writing test cases in PEAR? I've noticed a
good number of .phpt files, which seem to be intended for use with the
php-test.php script included with PHP itself. This message clued me in
about how to use those:
http://www.zend.com/lists/php-dev/200203/msg00059.html,
but other
documentation was hard to find. These files are currently used by DB,
various PECL extensions, XML_Parser and XML_RSS.
OTOH, there's a, I'm assuming, perfectly fine testing framework with PEAR.
It's documented on the pear website pretty well, but only used with MDB
and Math_Vector.
Which one should I use? I'm testing a lot of different data with a
relatively small set of methods and my current tests just use a lot of
print_r's.
Thanks,
Brent
