Hi Folks:
I've just started using PEAR's DB classes. My backend is MySQL. Some
of my applications depend on trapping particular errors, so I I went
hunting to learn PEAR's error message generation routines and which
messages are associated with which MySQL errors.
I was surprised to see that only a small handful of MySQL error messages
have been given constants in mysql.php. Well, took things into my own
hands: http://www.analysisandsolutions.com/pear/.
There, you'll find
two tab delimited files.
pear.mysql.error.txt contains all of MySQL error messages, constants and
numbers. The related PEAR constants are next to them. For items that
weren't already tied to a PEAR error constant, I added new associations.
One column also contains suggestions that aren't existing PEAR
constants, but probably should be.
A notation of my proposed error constants that should be added to DB.php
reside in pear.proposed.db.errors.txt.
I'll be glad to make a diff/patch file, but I figured someone more
deeply involved in the project should look over / edit my proposed
relationships before doing that. You know, perhaps I don't understand
what an existing constant really meant.
Keep me posted... I'm not on the dev list, so cc me.
Enjoy,
