Hello, For those of you who use qmail, this may be of some interest - if not, you will probably find this information useless ;) When using mimeMail.php following the directions here: http://pear.php.net/manual/en/core.mail.mime.php It will not work in qmail if you are sending HTML email as quoted-printable. You will need to change $mail =& Mail::factory('mail'); to $mail =& Mail::factory('smtp'); Why is this? Hehe, good question! I am assuming this has something to do with qmail's direct injection method - it must do something different when directly injecting vs. acting as a SMTP relay. Was investigating the issue to attempt to hack in an optional override method for "_quotedPrintableEncode" and found this class: http://phpclasses.optip.com/browse.html/package/9.html that has a qmail subclass for handling qmail. Unfortunately the site is down and I can't get at the source to see what they are doing different for qmail. Anyways, is it worth worrying about specific MTAs in mimePart.php? Perhaps a subclass? I realize that it appears to follow the spec for mime encoded messages and that should be anough I suppose, but then qmail is pretty popular (and better than many other MTAs IMHO). Anyways, I am not all that knowledgeable on the ins and outs of mime encoding and was wondering if anyone else had any suggestions on this issue. Or if you are struggling with this, it appears to work fine if you load up the Mail_smtp class and just want it to work and don't care why the other way doesn't work. Oh yeah, it only seems to have problems with HTML emails that have very involved HTML, if HTML can be involved ;) (i.e. <html>What's up</html> will work just fine). Don't figure. Mike
