I'm working on Archive_Tar (which manage the archives in the pear
installer), on this bug. However today I did not find any pb on Archive_Tar.
I will work on it again today night (paris time), however I suspect that the
installer ask the Archive_Tar class to extract a compressed archives and
gives it an un-compressed archive ...
I will have to look to the installer .... and I didn't look at it for a long
long time ....
Vincent
