OK, so here you go: The code in the attached tar.php should be able to
get the contents of both gzip'ed and tar'ed archives, but obviously
fails with tar'ed files and raises an error in line 18.
After reading the source of Archive_Tar I concluded that the second
parameter of the constructor determines if the file is gzip'ed or not,
right? So setting this parameter to false should enable Archive_Tar to
work with "simple" tar files. Or did I misread something?
I'm using revision 1.5 of Archive_Tar btw.
For an example tar file just take php4/pear/packages/DB-1.3.tar.
