I'll try to dig a bit deeper into docbook-generation using OpenOffice. Maybe there is a way that we can hack special XSLT-files that are used in OpenOffice as templates. The problem is deeper - not on application level, it is on the XML-Parser level.Entities are part of the DTD and already resolved, if you access a XML document by SAX or DOM. So it is also too late for any XSLT actions. If i rember right the Jave XML-API gives you a callback-based possibiltiy for evaluting entities manualy in a limited way, this could be a solution for OO. In general this problem can not be solved by an userland implementation, until you understand implementing a XML parser as a part of the userland.
