In case my answers *sometimes* look not too friendly, consider the following. QuickForm doubtlessly has some bugs in less-used or less-maintained areas. But its core functionality (and form output *is* such functionality) has received a very thorough testing by thousands of users. So if you are saying that something obvious "doesn't work" then error in your code is the most possible reason. And it is rather difficult to point to this error without seeing the code, of course.
