new to pear, stuck already

Hi all, I am new to pear, and am stuck on my first line! Pear is installed in the directory, usr/share/pear/ and I am on a remote machine I am trying to email people from a database, so am using the following code <?php require_once('/usr/share/pear/Mail.php'); // These two files are part of Pear, require_once('/usr/share/pear/Mail/Mime.php'); // and are required for the Mail_Mime class but I get the error Warning: main(): open_basedir restriction in effect. I know I am missing something real basic here, but its driving me mad, and searching this error message brings up pages of the same error, but bo solutions Thanks all Jules
