Hi Lukas,Basically all rights of a given users are stored on the database. We have a nice set of admin classes which help maintain this structure. However we have various way of efficiently managing your rights and also to cut down on needsless constant querying of the database we generate an array containing all the rights the given user has at login and cache it in the session. again caching of the rights array in other places than the session is planned but not yet implemented. I am however not sure I understand your question, because I think I didnt say anything now than what I said in my previous mail. If we have a language barrier you can mail me in private in german (looking at your mail address it looks like you speak german natively).Well, that's the point I intended to focus on: I always read about "rights of the user" which get stored in php4's session management. BUT, what about saving (the logged in users) actual session variables together with the rights in the database structure. IS THAT DONE??? Or does the class ONLY save/restore the users permission data? This is my main question!!! I don't only want to save/restore the user permission, I also want to remember the variable set of a session until the user logs in next time.the authenticated user to it's storage container? Can the user decide which session variables should be stored there?Err, currently liveuser fetches all the rights of the user and the groups that user is a member of, and also any user type relevant rights and builds a final right array which is cached in the session (using php4 session management).
In the next months or so I will probably publish and article in the international php mag and I will give a talk on LiveUser at the international php conf in amsterdam. This may improve the situation a bit, but will not replace "real" user documentation. regards, Lukas Smith smith@backendmedia.com _______________________________ BackendMedia www.backendmedia.com berlin@backendmedia.com Linn Zwoch Smith GbR Pariser Str. 44 D-10707 Berlin Tel +49 30 83 22 50 00 Fax +49 30 83 22 50 07Btw if we havent mentioned it: We would greatly appreciate it if all LiveUser users help improve Arnauds turorial or even better help build docbook documentation to include in the PEAR manual.
