Not quite sure what you are trying to do. A web browser will "consolidate" strings of spaces into one for display. If you want the browser to display "real" spacing, you should use a combination of spaces and   So, for what you are trying to do, you probably want to search on a double space and replace it with a space+  On Apr 8, 2004, at 4:43 PM, Scott Fletcher wrote:
Hi! I am wondering if anyone know of a better way to convert the ASCII text into the HTML text? It worked great in the html textarea for me but if I tried it in a HTML Table by using the preg_replace("/\s/",' ',$AsciiTxt) function. It doesn't fit in and make the table go beyond the fixed width of 100 and all of it on one line. If I leave it alone then it fit in the table as expected but if I have 2 or more text space then the browser only use one between characters. So, I welcome any suggestion.... -- Brent Baisley Systems Architect Landover Associates, Inc. Search & Advisory Services for Advanced Technology Environments p: 212.759.6400/800.759.0577
