I'm new to PHP and PEAR and have been updating a script to include the use of a PEAR package (Mail.php). What citation should I put in the code to inform users about getting PEAR if it is not already in their installation? Is there a minimum version of PHP that includes the PEAR Mail package as standard?The easiest, and probably best, way is to simply include the script in your distribution. However, if you want them to use the PEAR installer, here's an example of citation (from the INSTALL.txt of one of my applications): ------snip-------- The following PEAR packages must be installed and available via include_path: (The following packages may have dependencies that are not listed, but are automatically enforced by the installer.)
* DB 1.6.x or newer
* Crypt_RC4 1.2.x or newer
* HTML_CSS 0.3.x (other versions probably won't work)
* HTML_Page 2.0.0RC2 (it should also work with HTML_Page2, but that
would require minor changes to the code.)
* HTML_QuickForm 3.2.x or newer
* HTML_Table 1.5 * Mail 1.1.x or newer * Mail_Mime 1.2.x or newer* Numbers_Roman 0.1.x (Later releases probably will work, too)
* PEAR 1.3.1 or newer------snip-------- Of course, you want to mention that you can install it from go-pear.org ;-) Klaus
