Alexander, please take a look at this example: http://datagrid.webitecture.org/examples/example-smarty.phps You will see how the smarty example works. At this time, the smarty renderer is very basic and lately I have been questioning it's validity. In one smarty project I did, I had used the html renderer and assigned the output as a smarty variable. Currently the way the smarty renderer works is it assigns the data as a variable so that you can be more creative with the datagrid format. I will be looking into this more soon, if you have any suggestions please let me know. Andrew
