Are you absolutely sure of that? Dial-up users' IPs can change between dial-ups, but I doubt they're going to change on-the-fly. If they did, the internet simply wouldn't work. Unless, of course, they're using some kind of round-robin proxy system, but usually a user gets directed to one and stays there for the entire session.Well, for example, when I look at my logs for a user with a user agent of "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; AOL 9.0; Windows 98; .NET CLR 1.1.4322)" this is a sample of the IP trail they left: 152.163.100.11 152.163.100.11 152.163.100.11 152.163.100.132 152.163.100.8 - 152.163.100.8 - 152.163.100.8 - 152.163.100.8 - 152.163.100.8 - 152.163.100.204 152.163.100.204 152.163.100.204 152.163.101.6 - 152.163.100.204 152.163.100.204 152.163.100.204 152.163.101.5 - 152.163.100.204 152.163.100.204 152.163.101.6 - 152.163.100.204 152.163.100.8 - 152.163.100.204 152.163.100.204 152.163.100.204 152.163.100.204 152.163.100.204 152.163.100.204 152.163.100.204 152.163.100.204 152.163.100.204 152.163.100.204 152.163.100.204 152.163.100.204 152.163.100.203 152.163.100.203 152.163.100.203 152.163.100.203 152.163.100.203 152.163.100.203 152.163.100.203 152.163.100.203 152.163.100.203 152.163.100.8 - 152.163.100.204 152.163.100.204 152.163.100.204 152.163.100.204 152.163.100.204 152.163.100.204 152.163.100.204 152.163.100.204 152.163.100.204 152.163.100.204 152.163.100.204 152.163.100.204 152.163.100.204 Now, maybe this isn't someone using AOL, but whoever it is, their IP is definitely changing. And this isn't an isolated case, I mean yeah most people keep the same IPs, but not all so using $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'] might not work in all cases. - Erik Heerlein
