HTML_QF: putting titles into a select element

Hi, I've put a QF (with QFController) in a left bar of my app pages, to make a direct access to diferent pages. But the select box is bigger than the bar. My solution was "substr" the items in select box, and its ok but I want to put titles in the "option" tags with the complete text. When I put an option in the addElement params, there is the same for all options, and when I put a string I get an error (expect a string). Is there any way to put these titles into the QF? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. (I use HTML_QuickForm_Controller & Smarty)
