I've got an interesting situation. I've just created a web farm of Gentoo 2004.3 servers, each running apache 1.3.32 and PHP 5.0.3; instead of using portage to compile and install apache and PHP, we did so manually. PEAR::DB runs fine.... but... I started noticing that one of my scripts, which runs fine on my development platform (basically identical) wasn't working on the cluster. So I tried it on the commandline on one node. And I got a segmentation fault. I was preliminarily able to isolate the segmentation fault to DB. At the time, I was running 1.7.1. I downgraded to 1.6.8, which we have running on a production server with PHP 5.0.2 and Apache 1.3.32 -- but still received a segfault. I tested some more, and finally isolated the issue to PEAR.php itself.remove the "debug_backtrace()" call in PEAR_Error's constructor and see if the segfault goes away Greg
