hey all, I've recently upgraded my powerbook to use lighttpd 1.3.13, php 5.0.3, eaccelerator 0.9.2. I've noticed that I can no longer upgrade/install pear packages. The packages are downloaded and then it hangs. If I use pear download <package> and then pear install <package.tar.gz>, it hangs as well. pear fontend:CLI PEAR Version: 1.3.5 PHP Version: 5.0.3 Zend Engine Version: 2.0.3 Running on: Darwin smac.local 7.9.0 Darwin Kernel Version 7.9.0: Wed Mar 30 20:11:17 PST 2005; root:xnu/xnu-517.12.7.obj~1/RELEASE_PPC Power Macintosh Is there anything special I have to do to get pear working with: smac:/tmp/pear smaclure$ php -v PHP 5.0.3 (cgi-fcgi) (built: Mar 18 2005 19:41:14) Copyright (c) 1997-2004 The PHP Group Zend Engine v2.0.3, Copyright (c) 1998-2004 Zend Technologies
    with eAccelerator v0.9.2, Copyright (c) 2004-2004 eAccelerator, by eAccelerator
pear list works: Installed packages: ===================
Package        Version State
Archive_Tar    1.1     stable
Console_Getopt 1.2     stable
PEAR           1.3.5   stable
XML_RPC        1.1.0   stable
but pear install just hangs/sits there Currently sticking in echoes to find where it stops, but it seems like it's not processing the cmdline args properly. see my debugging crap: smac:/tmp/pear smaclure$ pear install Mail-1.1.4.tgz /usr/local/php5-fcgi/bin/php -C -q -d include_path=/usr/local/php5-fcgi/lib/php -d output_buffering=1 /usr/local/php5-fcgi/lib/php/pearcmd.php install Mail-1.1.4.tgz argv:Array (
    [0] => /usr/local/php5-fcgi/lib/php/pearcmd.php
    [1] => install
    [2] => Mail-1.1.4.tgz
) argv:Array (
    [0] => install
    [1] => Mail-1.1.4.tgz
) Array ( ) pear fontend:CLI any advice? looks like the following is losing my cmdline args: echo 'argv:'.print_r($argv, true); /* $progname = basename($argv[0]); */ $progname = 'pear'; if (in_array('getopt2', get_class_methods('Console_Getopt'))) {
    array_shift($argv);
echo 'argv:'.print_r($argv, true);
    $options = Console_Getopt::getopt2($argv, "c:C:d:D:Gh?sSqu:vV");
} else {
    $options = Console_Getopt::getopt($argv, "c:C:d:D:Gh?sSqu:vV");
} This line is borking things? $options = Console_Getopt::getopt2($argv, "c:C:d:D:Gh?sSqu:vV"); If I try running go-pear.php through http://localhost/go-pear.php?step=install, I can see: Starting installation ... Loading zlib: ok Downloading package: PEAR-stable......ok Downloading package: Archive_Tar-stable....ok Downloading package: Console_Getopt-stable....ok Downloading package: XML_RPC-stable....ok Downloading package: Pager............ok Downloading package: HTML_Template_IT....ok Downloading package: Net_UserAgent_Detect....ok Downloading package: PEAR_Frontend_Web-0.4....ok Bootstrapping: PEAR...................(remote) ok Bootstrapping: Archive_Tar............(remote) ok Bootstrapping: Console_Getopt.........(remote) ok Downloading package: DB...............ok Downloading package: Net_Socket.......ok Downloading package: Net_SMTP.........ok Downloading package: Mail.............ok Downloading package: XML_Parser.......ok Downloading package: PHPUnit..........ok Extracting installer..................ok install ok: PEAR 1.3.5 (stops here and the browser is left waiting, total progress = 72%) -scott
