This happens when the session expires. You can change the behaviour by
using ini_set("session.gc_maxlifetime", n) where n is a value in
seconds that determines how long your sessions should stay alive.

On the long term I'm planing to handle the logins via customized
cookies and not to rely on PHP's session handling.
