We're trying to make it work more or less transparently. That is, you can still set up a default PEAR error handler and so on. The only thing I'm having some problems with is how to make expectError/popExpect work nicely with exceptions (it basically is a poor man's try/catch, so rewriting the code for the few places using it may be just as good as bending over to make it compatible). > - Will PEAR define an API for exception classes? Yes. It'll be the same one as today, but if you write "ZE2 only" code there'll be less PEAR::isError() checking because raiseError() will throw an exception. > - Will PEAR keep its package system? Definitely. We will use dependencies and/or package status to signal which packages support/require ZE2/PHP5. > - Have you already started thinking about that / implementing / testing > new code?
