Is there a way to use: http://pear.php.net/package/Pager/ to page the
results of a MYSQL query?
I prefer the features and the fact that this class is being actively
developed but there's one thing I do not understand re: using it with
MYSQL/PHP: on this page:
http://pear.php.net/manual/en/package.html.pager.intro.php
in example
no. 1 we see the line:
" 'itemData'
=>array('a','b','c','d','e',[...omissis...],'z')"
I don't understand. Most pager code I've seen (given a result set's
parameters) will fetch only the part of the DB that needs to be
displayed not the whole DB. But the line above from the PEAR pager
doc. seems to indicate that the whole array ie. the whole entire result
set is needed by the class. That's ok for the alphabet but not workable
for a big result set when we really need a pager.
I must not understand - could someone explain? Thanks,
Lee G.
