Hello, Where does pear save the config settings? I have recently upgraded from PHP4 to PHP5. With this a new version of pear is installed in a new location. I use the web frontend to manage packages. In the web frontend I changed the config setting to point to the new location. The web frontend also tells me where the config file lives. This is clear and works correctly. The commandline package manager however doesn't seem to use the same config file, if I change a setting in the web frontend the change isn't reflected in the commandline package manager and vice versa. I can't seem to find the pear.conf that the commandline package manager is using. Is it even using a pear.conf file?
pear config-show will tell you, generally pear help gives you a lot of information on the commands you can use
Is there a way to tell the commandline package manager what config file to use? I'd like the web frontend and the commandline package manager to use the same config file.
You can do it dynamically by pear C path/configfile .... for system config file (default /etc/pear.conf) or pear c mypath/myconfigfile ... for user config file (default ~/.pearrc) If you want to fix the location you can use the symbol PHP_PEAR_INSTALL_DIR which is first tried by the pear command, exporting its value from bash start scripts. (you can cat /usr/bin/pear to see it) à+ -- bertrand "toggg" Gugger
