thanks, i got that to work. i knew the code had to be there somewhere! :)
i found a bug report that mentioned the necesary trick for compiling from
the CVS code, i think -
1) ./buildconf --ZendEngine2
2) mv Zend Zend1.2
3) mv ZendEngine2 Zend
4) ./configure --with-my-usual-flags-etc
at least it makes the Zend version reported by php -v change....
