non interactive scriptable go-pear?

I'm looking to see if a non-interactive go-pear exists. I'm looking to add it to a automated install script. I looked at the code and saw that it doesn't have support for a configuration file, or command line arguments, it has some support for environment variables but not for most of the prompts. It would be easy for me to code my defaults into go-pear but when go-pear changes my file would be obsolete. Is there a way to script go-pear that I'm missing? Should I contribute a patch?
