Hi, I'm trying to get pear installed such that I can go to the windows command line, type "pear" and download packages, etc. I went to http://go-pear.org Downloaded the text, renamed it pear.php, put it in a subdirectory of one the IIS sites called /pear, then executed it, followed the directions (for question 10 php.exe path optional (CLI command tools) I left it the default, which was the subdirectory /pear and not the actual path to php4.exe, but I tried changing this and it still doesn't work). Then when i press install i get Error Sorry! PEAR_Frontend_Web is not yet compatible with PEAR 1.4.x. A new version will be available soon. Until then, you may install the CLI version of PEAR, or grab the CVS version of PEAR_Frontend_Web via anonymous CVS (WARNING: experienced developers only) then some stuff indicating things are installing, then this warning: pear/PEAR requires package "pear/PEAR_Frontend_Web" (version >= 0.5.0), installed version is 0.4 pear/PEAR can optionally use package "pear/PEAR_Frontend_Gtk" (version >= 0.4.0) Following the instructions I set F:\Intetpub\dirname\pear/PEAR as the include_path in php.ini When I run pear from the comand line I get '"F:\Intetpub\dirname\pear\"' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. I have put the path to pear.bat in the PATH environment variable. I am sure this is working because this message: '"F:\Intetpub\dirname\pear\"' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. Is received both when typing "pear" at any command prompt or by executing /pathtopear/pear.bat Help would be appreciated. Cheers, Jay
