The problem that i find inf pgsql implementation is that bytea for binary data can't be used in prepare/excute becouse the quote methos of pgsql class don't escape binary special chars, i see that new version of PHP includes a specific function to do this, plus a function for scape strings, but in this function, i can't determine if the data are binary or string.
