Troubleshooting PEAR / HTML_QuickForm installation

Please help me determine why my installation of HTML_QuickForm is not working. My set-up: Running OS X 10.4.6 with Apache 1.3 PHP 5.1.2 installed with the latest package from http://www.entropy.ch/software/macosx/php/ Used the command line installer http://pear.php.net/manual/en/installation.cli.php to install HTML_QuickForm and upgrade PEAR as described in step 1. of this article: http://www.midnighthax.com/quickform.php I got a "Segmentation Fault" error when attempting to use 'pear upgrade-all'. Installing the packages individually _seemed_ to work -- at least the feed back in the command line indicated the installations were successful... Step 2. of the Getting Started Guide is where I'm at _without_ the "Testing QuickForm" being rendered in my test page. What can I test or prod to determine where my issue may lie? Suggested google search queries are also welcome! If you haven't already guessed I have not done this before. I'm new to PHP; Although I can confirm that PHP is working and I managed to get Smarty operational - so I'm still on the optimistic side of desperately frustrated :) Thank-you in advance Ollie -- Ask me about CSS
