Are you sure it really installed? Try just "pear install Net_Socket".
Then try "pear upgrade Net_Socket". I also suggest "pear
list-upgrades" and upgrading your other packages.
Okay it works with upgrade and then i can install the http request.
I also see that i can upgrade some other packagse:

But at the first time, when i install pear over debian.
and make
pear install Mail, HTTP etc
then i also installed the old stable version?
