Basically MDB is DB and then some (actually alot).
MDB is a merge of DB and Metabase.
MDB has its own native datatypes which are mapped to the corresponding
RDBMS native datatypes when needed. This allows truly db independent
code. It even abstracts schema management for you.
You can search this archive and the MDB homepage
(http://pear.php.net/package-info.php?package=MDB) for more details.
And of course I am around to answer specific questions.
