Bull... beta or not, PEAR can´t hurt their systems as it´s pure PHP
script code - and pretty high quality in general, that is.

You can use any provider who supports PHP. Just make a local install of
PEAR on your own machine. Then copy the whole PEAR directory tree to
some location in your webspace account that can be accessed by PHP.
After that, add that same directory to PHP´s include_path for your
webspace account. Depending on the settings of your provider´s machine,
you can do so by either putting an Apache directive into a .htaccess
file or by setting the include_path option directly in your PHP scripts
via the ini_set() function.
