Hello, Martin
PEAR User class is a good starting point probably but last time I chjecked it
out was lacking a huge lot of real life(TM) functionnality.
For my own use I use a set of functions that :
- Register
- Login
- Logout
- Allow email and password change
- For all operations send a personalized email
The registration is done in two step, first the user fill a form then he/she
receive a personalized email containing a link, if he/she clicks ont the link a
flag is set to TRUE
- The number of items are dynamically managed, that means that only $user_name,
$password and $email are definied, if you want to add a filed you just need to
create a database entry and add a form item this way
<input text="" name="array[country]>
- each new user is created with get the IP he/she connects from
- md5 pasword encryption
- A lot of classical functions like is_logged_in() or get_user_name()...
This set of functions is from Tim perdue (phpbuilder) and I added a bunch of
other fucntions.
This is this kind of class (IMHO) PEAR is missing
