The reason is that Metabase does not support it.
And the reason that Metabase does not support it yet is that Manuel
probably did not get around to implement it. Once the driver situation
is clear up and the documentation is done I will start to investigate
what to work on next. The MDB_Frontend is one area I want to work on.
Adding Primary and Foreign Key Support is another. However my time is
fairly limited. So I will take it one at a time. Feedback like this is
very welcome however.

I will look into it.
One side note however: don't expect miracles from the reverse
engineering. Its main goal is to get you started. It cant resolve
ambiguity automatically.
