Change install path for installer

How do I change the default intall path for the pear installer? pear.bat looks like this: set PHP_PATH=d:\oracle\ora90\apache\php set PEAR_INSTALL_DIR=d:\oracle\ora90\apache\apache\htdocs\includes\pear set PEAR_EXTENSION_DIR=d:\oracle\ora90\apache\php\extensions set PEAR_DOC_DIR=d:\oracle\ora90\Apache\Apache\htdocs\includes\pear\docs set DIRECTORY_SEPARATOR=\ but when I ran: pear install Auth (for example), I got downloading http://pear.php.net/get/Auth ... ...done: 15,352 bytes installed file c:\php4\pear\Auth\Auth.php installed file c:\php4\pear\Auth\Container.php installed file c:\php4\doc\pear\Auth\Auth\README.Auth installed file c:\php4\pear\Auth\Container\DB.php installed file c:\php4\pear\Auth\Container\File.php installed file c:\php4\pear\Auth\Container\IMAP.php installed file c:\php4\pear\Auth\Container\POP3.php installed file c:\php4\pear\Auth\Container\LDAP.php installed file c:\php4\pear\Auth\Container\RADIUS.php installed file c:\php4\pear\Auth\Container\SOAP.php installed file c:\php4\pear\Auth\Container\vpopmail.php install ok Shouldn't this install to my PEAR_INSTALL_DIR.
