pear.bat on WinXP does nothing

I just installed PHP 4.3.1 on WinXP Pro on c:\php. The default install didn't include PEAR, so I used the script from http://go-pear.org to install it without any problems. I then modified my php.ini file with: include_path = .;c:\php\pear I verified the change by running php -i > info.htm and checking the results. I then modified pear.bat as follows: REM change this lines to match the paths of your system REM ------------------- set PHP_BIN=c:\php\php set BIN_DIR=c:\php set PEAR_PATH=c:\php\pear %PHP_BIN% -C -d output_buffering=1 -d include_path=%PEAR_PATH% -f %BIN_DIR%\pear -- %1 %2 %3 %4 %5 %6 %7 %8 %9 It all looks good to me (newbie), but when I type any of the following commands in the command window absolutely nothing happens, not even an error message: pear pear list pear install Log Any ideas on what I might have missed?
