if you are using windows. (eg. php.exe) - the paths below are unix paths , and should look more like C:\PHP4\PEAR\DataObjects\
To be honest I'm not sure exactly what I'm using. My understanding of interrelated OS and architectures is abysmal. The uni servers (including amos, which has PHP) are Unix, but the workstation I have on the network is Windows. If I were to refer to the filespace in Windows, then it would be the H:/ drive, but every student has an H: drive and I think it is mapped on login, so I'm not sure at all that it would work! When I'm actually running the php createTables.php ourdata.ini, I'm doing that in Unix, in an XWindow. What you've suggested below, I think I already did, as I edited the createTables and Generator files to help them find the appropriate classes, as it was throwing lots of errors at me before.
in both cases it's likely that you will need to do #php -d include_path=/u/cs/2/cs2proje/Application/PEAR-1.0.1 createTables.php ourdata.ini
I've the alterations that you suggested re the .ini file, but still am encountering the following problem:
Unfortunately, however, when I run this command, all I get is: CREATING FOR: mysql://cs2proje:xxxxxx@amos.bath.ac.uk/cs2proje Then it returns to the command prompt and there don't seem to have been any visible classes created in response to the database investigation.
There aren't any errors -- it just doesn't appear to make anything. Am I right in thinking that if the generator had worked correctly, then some class files would appear in the DataObject file? Also, can someone please give me an idea of what the file structure is meant to look like? I've had to install PEAR using the zip files, so it's all a bit haphazard. At the moment I have //Application/PEAR-1.0.1/ //Application/PEAR-1.0.1/DB/DataObject/ //Application/PEAR-1.0.1/DataObjects (as suggested) I wondered if these were in the wrong order somehow and that was part of the reason the files weren't finding each other happily on their own -- that the order was mixed up somehow. Thanks very much for all help so far, please continue to help! My project will be soooooo much easier if I can get this to work! PJ _________________________________________________________________
