QuickForm input text content

Hi, I'm thinking of using QuickForm but wondered if somebody could answer a quick question. Is it easy to add a way of ensuring that the content returned from a string gadget doesn't start of end with white space? In effect trimming the results at both ends before passing the content back to me to use.
