Hi Folks,
I'm porting a large PHP application that I wrote, to use PEAR::DB with
Informix (IDS 7.31). Until now I was using a DB interface object that I had
wrote. Anyway I've found some strange behaviour that's making my port a
little annoying. Just to mention...
I use a lot of BLOBs on my tables (TEXT) and I need a way to insert (or
update) it's contents, so in my object I wrote a method called updateBlob,
but there is no mention of such a thing on PEAR::DB. I know that PostgreSQL
also has to use a separate set of commands to update BLOBs (large
objects)... So I was thinking about inserting a standard method on
DB::common and customize it on ifx and pgsql to do the proper actions for
them (I already did it on ifx). What do you think?
Comments are welcome...
Cheers,
