You may try my dbSessions library then:

It's main advantages is that it (transparently) emulates PHP4 sessions
if you only have PHP3 and that it stores data in database.
It currently uses my other (old) library named dbMySQL, but I wanted
to PEARize it some day, maybe it's time now ... ;)
