Webinstaller fails on Solaris

Have installed PEAR with go-pear runned through Apache on Solaris.
Installation worked fine, but when I fetching HTML_QuickForm package i get his error:
could not open /HTML_QuickForm-3.0Beta2.tgz for writing
It seems to me that apache has no write access in the directory where it stores the downloaded file. After checking the code, I couldn't detemine which directory is used.
$download_dir is the name of the variable, but i think its empty?
Do anyone have a hint?
