Sortable tables

I'm looking for a re-usable method for creating sortable tables i.e. Fetch data from DB (Pear DB) Create table header with Ascending and Descending links that sort the table by that column. Create the rest of the table. I am currently using the Pager.php class which is excellent. It would be great if something could integrate with this, or at least work with it. Unfortunately, I wouldn't know where to start here, and pray for the day when I can actually start contributing to the effort, but if someone has any ideas on this, I'd be most grateful. TIA Simon H.
