i'm going to use Pear to develop. However, as a student of university, I don't have enough permission to install on university 's unix, is there any other way to use Pear without installation? Then ask the people who have the permissions! The admins of the universities are often intrested in new technologies - at least the admins i know. Say them, that PEAR is for PHP what CPAN is for Perl, and that more and more users will use it. Not installing PEAR on a central place means to force users to install them locally, which means wasting web space with redundant stuff - and admins at universities hate redundancy and wasting hard disk space.
