Returning errors with the template code

Converting from PHPLib template code to the PEAR IntegratedTemplate
stuff.
However, its just not working. And when it doesnt work it doesn't tell
me why.
I've skimmed through the source, and look into the documentations, but I
can't figure out why it isn't returning error messages? Or perhaps I
have to explicitly ask for them? However, I haven't read how to request
the error message in the doucmentation?
Also does anyone know when we'll have user added comments like the PHP
documentation in the PEAR documentation stuff?
