Hi, is this really the case? I read in the last section of http://pear.php.net/manual/en/installation.getting.php that we can just copy the files over to the server. I mean, at least php scripts will work, even if we lost the use of the pear command ?? Thierry B.Hi, For most packages, this is true. For complex packages, that use the replacements option of the pear installer, this may not be true. Fortunately, not many packages make use of this yet, but it is a very useful feature for applications. PEAR is in the process of discussing solutions to related problems that will ultimately affect this. For now, copying files will work for 99.9% of packages (the only one I know of for sure where this will not work is PhpDocumentor 1.2.2, and that isn't released through pear.php.net yet) Regards, Greg
